The Buckeye Belles Picnic meeting was combined with that of the Chix YL club (formerly the Chix on Six) as the majority of the Chix YL members, who are from the greater Cleveland, OH and surrounding counties, are also Belle members. This year I was not able to attend but what follows are the comments that the current president, May N8MZJ, wrote about the meeting in the Sept/Oct issue of the Burr.
On the 9th of August, we had our annual Belle picnic at Jean WB8FIC and George's place in Delaware. We had a nice turn-out along wight some good food. The weather was kind to us and the rain held off until we were on the way home. It rained VERY hard but not for long and by the time we arrived in Cleveland it was nice and clear.
The meeting at the picnic was a good one, we talked of many things regarding the YLRL Convention, we'll have more about that later. I am planning to have a table at the Cleveland Hamfest for the Belles and will have crafts to sell as a fund raiser. I also had tickets to sell and part of the money goes into the Convention Fund.
