The Buckeye Belles held their annual meeting on Sunday, April 27, 1997 at the Best Western in Lancaster, Ohio. This year there was a buffet dinner to allow everyone to take what they want and the amount they want.
The picture to the right shows Lilo KA8IWD and her husband Jack W8TSF, the coordinators for the annual meeting finally getting a chance to sit down and enjoy their meal. These two did a superb job.
However, it is again with a sad heart that I must say that Jack
W8TSF became a silent key on 10/10/97. Additional information will be provided
in the coming days. Our thoughts and prayers to Lilo and her family.
Each year, the Buckeye Belles presents the Founders Award to a Belle who best exemplifies what it is to be a Belle. This year, the winner of the award was May N8MZJ, Buckeye Belle treasurer. To the left is May N8MZJ holding up the plaque. The winner gets to keep it for one year and then it is passed on to the winner of the following year.
After a great meal and desert, we had our business meeting where
numerous actions were taken. The minutes of the meeting will appear
in the July/August of the Buckeye Belle and I hope to have it
available on the web also. The picture on the right shows Buckeye Belle
president Terri WD8LQH (on the left) and vice president Nancy KC4IYD
(on the right) giving an award to one of the Buckeye Belles founding mother,
Shirley K8MZT.
